Since we always have blueberries in the freezer, this is a recipe that we prepare frequently. My children devour it in a flash; the preparation time is only five minutes. It’s a terrific option for a nutritious breakfast or snack. This smoothie has a thick, creamy, and smooth texture, and the taste is exploding with the flavor of blueberries!
This smoothie is also quite adaptable to your tastes! Check out the many other options that are listed below!
Ingredients
- Milk–I prefer to use unsweetened vanilla almond milk or homemade kefir as my choice, but you are free to use any milk you like. Milk made from cows, cashew nuts, coconuts, soybeans, or oats are all viable alternatives to cow’s milk.
- Blueberries that have been frozen: Use frozen blueberries to make a rich and creamy smoothie.
- For bananas that have been frozen, I recommend freezing the bananas in slices first so that they may be blended more easily. For Use in smoothies, I always have a supply in our freezer.
- Adding a substantial handful of spinach is one of my favorite things. I guarantee you won’t even be able to tell that there are hidden vegetables in there because it’s such a terrific method to sneak in some extra greens.
- Protein powder: You do not have to include protein powder, but I do so since I want more protein. The simple vanilla flavor of this protein powder works well in my smoothie, which is why I use it. You can get a discount at any time by entering the code TWOPEAS.
- Chia seeds provide an additional source of protein and fiber!
How to Make a Blueberry Smoothie
Put the milk, blueberries, banana, spinach, chia seeds, and protein powder into a high-powered blender. Blend until smooth.
The Vitamix, the Breville, and the KitchenAid are three excellent brands of blenders to consider.
Combine until there are no lumps. You are allowed to pause the process to scrape the sides of the pot with a spatula or use the tamper.
Pour into glasses, and then start enjoying it right away.

Smoothie Variations
- If you do not have any frozen fruit, you can make the smoothie with fresh blueberries and bananas, but ice will need to be added to achieve the desired consistency.
- You can use frozen cauliflower for the banana in the smoothie if you do not want to use a banana to thicken it. I assure you that you won’t be able to taste it. Use one-third to one-half of a cup.
- To increase the amount of protein in the dish, stir in plain Greek yogurt or vanilla yogurt.
- You can substitute coconut water, apple juice, or orange juice for milk if you don’t want to use it.
- You can use kale for spinach in this recipe.
- Include some ground flaxseed or hemp hearts in the recipe.
- The addition of avocado not only makes the dish creamier but also makes it a terrific source of healthful fats.
- Include one level tablespoon of nut butter, such as almond, peanut, or cashew butter.
- Add vanilla extract to the mixture if you are not using vanilla protein powder.
- If you want a more sugary beverage, you can sweeten your smoothie by adding some honey or pure maple syrup.
- Granola should be sprinkled on top of the smoothie. This recipe calls for granola, and some of my favorites are listed below: lemon blueberry, almond butter granola, coconut granola, or brown butter maple granola. All of these granolas would mix well with the smoothie.
- On top, sprinkle some PBfit, and then mix it in with a spoon. I choose not to incorporate it into the smoothie because doing so will reduce the intensity of the flavor. To get the most out of the peanut butter flavor, mix it in with a spoon.
Prep In Advance
Make smoothie packs, place them in the freezer, and store them there if you want to plan and prepare your smoothies for meals.
- Please put the frozen blueberries, bananas, spinach, and chia seeds into a container or bag and place them in the freezer. I do not put the protein powder in the freezer; instead, I wait until I am ready to create the smoothie before I add it. Don’t put the milk in there!
- You should write the name of the smoothie, the date, and the amount of liquid you will need to add when you prepare the smoothie somewhere on the outside of the bag or container.
- Put it into the freezer and keep it there for up to two months.
- It would help if you made numerous packets to have several smoothies prepared and ready to go.
- When you are ready to prepare a smoothie, the first thing you should do is add the liquid to the blender. Blend in one frozen smoothie pack with some protein powder, if you like, until the mixture is completely smooth. Immediately serve after cooking.
